On May 3, 2024, discussions on cooperation between national and international medical institutions to establish pain management protocols were addressed at the International Conference titled ‘National Platform for Pain Management Policies’, hosted by the Parliament.
The conference was organized by the Society for the Study and Management of Pain in the Republic of Moldova, with the support of the Center for Health Policy and Analysis, under the auspices of the parliamentary Committee for Social Protection, Health, and Family. The event brought together members of parliament, representatives from governmental institutions, international and national medical organizations, development partners, health experts, and physicians.
Following the Conference, medical professional associations in Moldova have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, aiming to develop a National Clinical Protocol by the autumn of 2025. This protocol will encompass contemporary approaches in pain management, including evidence-based methods of assessment and treatment. Signatories of the document intend to contribute to enhancing the quality of life for patients and fostering a society where pain is no longer a burden.
