IASP

The International Association on the Study of Pain (IASP) is the leading global organization supporting the study and practice of pain and pain relief. IASP brings together scientists, clinicians, health care providers, and policymakers from around the world in pursuit of their mission to bring relief to those who are in pain.


EFIC

The European Pain Federation EFIC was founded in 1993 by the European chapters of the International Association for the Study of Pain. The first President of the Federation was Professor Ulf Lindblom. Our first projects were our scientific meeting ‘Pain in Europe’ and our scientific journal the European Journal of Pain. Over the years we have evolved to take a stronger role in the education of clinicians, in furthering pain research and advocacy to support better policies affecting pain.

The ‘Societal Impact of Pain’ (SIP) platform is a multi-stakeholder partnership led by the European Pain Federation EFIC and Pain Alliance Europe (PAE), which aims to raise awareness of pain and change pain policies.
